“One day out of the blue I started realizing that my neck had a big wart looking thing which started itching and I could not help scratching the place and it gave me a burning irritation. After going to the doctor, he prescribed a duct tape and told me put that on my neck for at least five days to see whether it had gone or not. I looked puzzled and thought whether the remedy was effective enough. He could have prescribed any costly ointment, but why the duct tape! Anyway, I fixed this duct tape on my neck; to my utter surprise, I found that after just five days the wart was gone totally.” Anonymous Duct tape therapy is placing a duct tape, which is medicated, on the wart-affected area for an extended period. Duct Tape Occlusion Therapy is rather controversial in its effects. There is a mismatch among the dermatologists in respect of the Duct Tape to remove the warts. In one study, it is found that using duct tape there is an 85% chance of the recovery, while in other study an opposite view takes place; it says the duct tape has no significant effect. Two crucial reasons are there behind its usage: Duct tape after a considerable period, removes the dead skin; therefore, it wipes out the entire wart virus that stays in the skin. It is a function of cleaning the skin debris. Duct tape will somehow increase the patients’ immune system so that it can attack the warts virus. Duct tape procedure: Cut any piece of the Duct tape depending on the area of the warts. Now, fix the piece of duct on the warts-affected area. Replace with a new piece of duct tape in the warts after 6 days. If the duct tape falls off, just put on a new piece. After six days, remove the wart. Then put your wart-infected area inside the water. Take a pumice or emery board and rub the area gently to eliminate all the dead skins. Do not put another new duct tape that night; keep your wart in the open air. Next day, again fix another duct tape on the area and follow the process to no longer than two months. In one small study, it is found that in 22 out of 26 cases, common warts have gone within two months, while for some persons 28 days are required for the whole recovery. If, however, you find the area under the duct tape becomes red and itchy, keep the area in the open air for one week until the problem is gone totally and then continue the process once again.
