Whatever your dream, you may be pleasantly surprised to find there's one nation where it's not simply attainable - but remarkably affordable too. Argentina! It's varied, beautiful, sophisticated, and undervalued, which means it makes a lot of sense right now - whether you're in the market for a primary residence overseas, a vacation home, or simply a smart investment.
New construction apartments in the Palermo district of Buenos Aires is a prime location these days. Palermo covers a large swath of residential Buenos Aires, including Palermo Viejo, Palermo Alto, and Palermo Chico as well as Palermo Park. Palermo Viejo is a large area that can be further subdivided into Palermo Soho (like New York Soho) and Palermo Hollywood. Palermo Hollywood is home to the trendiest restaurants in Buenos Aires.
Buenos Aires is a cosmopolitan, genteel, and welcoming city, and if you are at all interested, you should visit now, while the prices are probably lower than they will ever be again. The Argentines appreciate foreign tourists, particularly foreign investors who will be able to help turn the economy around.
The capital has all the symbols of modern day living: joggers, internet cafes, dog walkers, women enhanced by plastic surgery, health food stores, and overpriced folklore boutiques. There is a large expatriate community in the northern suburbs of the city, where you'll find supermarket shelves tocked with familiar American products.
