Why Marijuana Should be Legal

Many Americans feel that Marijuana is helping fund the war on terror, but making a war on drugs and keeping Marijuana illegal has not stopped millions of Americans from smoking pot everyday. So what is the answer?
One of the consequences of the mixed messages about alcohol use and abuse in our society it that it becomes extremely difficult for many individuals, especially our youth, to realistically see the destructive, unhealthy, and sometimes fatal aspects of alcohol abuse.
Drug addiction is an uncontrollable compulsion to repeat a behavior that is regardless of its negative consequences. A person who gets addicted to drug is called an addict. There are three types of drug addiction:

Drug Rehabilitation - No easy options

The addict has to be the person who decides to have treatment. If relatives put their loved one in a rehab center without the addict's cooperation he or she will go back to drugs within weeks of coming out. It is an expensive option, but really the only one. The money is going to be wasted though, unless the addict is a willing patient.

Alcohol - Is there a comparison with hard drugs?

Alcohol is addictive. You will find many people who will argue with this statement, but alcohol fits all the definitions of a harmful and addictive drug. Given the toxic nature of alcohol, if the substance was discovered today, it would never be licensed as a drug or food.

Detoxing For Addictions

Finding reliable drug detox instructions can be hard. When self-drug detoxification is attempted, there are a few things to keep in mind. Always seek professional help.

Hydrocodone Addiction – A Rising Crisis

Commonly prescribed for its effectiveness as an analgesic or pain reliever, addiction to hydrocodone is today being viewed as a mounting crisis. While addiction to illicit drugs, like cocaine, marijuana and heroin that claim national headlines ever so often, is widely talked about, we scarcely know about hydrocodone abuse and addiction.

History of Cocaine

Extraction of pure cocaine was first done from the leaf of the Erythroxylon coca bush, which is found mainly in the high mountain ranges of Peru and Bolivia, in the mid nineteenth century. The natives of this region used the coca leaves as a stimulant.

Heroin Addiction - The Basics

Heroin is a highly addictive, illegal drug. It among the most abused and fastest acting of the opiates (opiates, also called narcotics, are a family of drugs which are used in the medical profession to relieve pain, but are also highly abused due to this very property).

Effects of Cocaine

Cocaine has enormously devastating side effects which can eventually be fatal. It acts extremely rapidly and its short term side effects can even be experienced by a person who has used it just once.
